Huawei has been quite successful this year. Especially after releasing the Huawei P20, it has been quite competitive in the flagship segment. After Mate series, the P series represents the company’s premium-tier efforts. It seems like the Huawei Mate 20 is their newest addition.

Now a series of renders have emerged revealing the Mate 20. These renders come from the folks at XDA. XDA Developers report that it viewed leaked photographs of a Huawei Mate 20 engineering sample from a trusted source.

The renders tell us that the Huawei Mate 20 has a small notch, similar to the Essential PH-1. Below the notch is a 6.3 inch AMOLED display. This is backed up in evidence by an overlay found in the firmware files. The overlay further reveals the screen resolution is 2244 x 1080.

The back features three camera sensors and a flash, clustered together in an unusual 2×2 formation. The rear panel is reportedly glass, which is necessary for wireless charging.

XDA Developers also report that the Mate 20 runs Android 9 Pie on a HiSilicon Kirin 980 chipset. The phone has got 6GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage. The device is powered by a substantial 4,200 mAh battery.

The phone is still not coming to the US. Though, you can import an unlocked variant if you really want the device. It will be interesting to see how this phone will push Huawei’s growing market share even further.
