The Series 12 and Ultra 4 arrived on 18 September, and the first question with any new Apple Watch band is not price but whether the brand says the new watch fits. We checked that before anything else, and the answer splits the page in two. Spigen lists Apple Watch 12 in both 42mm and 46mm as live, in-stock variants on eight separate bands. ESR, which sells the most prominent Apple Watch bands, does not mention the Series 12 or the Ultra 4 anywhere on any of its three watch product pages.
That is why most of this page is Spigen and not a statement about brand loyalty. It is a statement about who has updated their variant lists for this generation. Both ESR picks below are included with their limitation written into the copy, because a band at a good price is still the wrong recommendation if nobody will confirm it fits.
Quick picks
- Best everyday link band: Spigen Modern Fit Band
- Cheapest verified band: Spigen Lite Fit Band
- Real titanium, no stretch: Spigen Modern Fit Titanium Band

Best Premium Titanium Band
1. Spigen Modern Fit Titanium Band
Price: $79.99 (Series 12 46mm)
Real titanium links, and the only band here where the material is the reason for the price rather than a finish description. Spigen lists it for the 46mm Series 12 in Natural Titanium and Black, both in stock.
At $79.99 it costs more than three times the cheapest band on this page, and a titanium link bracelet is the one type that needs no break-in period and does not stretch. If you have worn a metal band before and prefer it to elastomer, this is the pick. If you have not, the $19.99 Lite Fit below is a cheaper way to find out.

Best Steel-Linked Band
2. Spigen Modern Fit 316L Band
Price: $49.99 (Series 12 46mm)
316L stainless steel, which is the grade used in watch cases and jewellery rather than the cheaper 304 steel most bargain link bands use. It resists tarnish, which is the difference that shows after six months of daily wear.
It sits between the titanium and the fabric bands on price, at $49.99, and Spigen lists the 46mm Series 12 in silver and black. The 42mm Series 12 variant shows out of stock on the page we checked, so buy the 46mm if that is your size and do not assume both sizes ship.

Best Everyday Link Band
3. Spigen Modern Fit Band
Price: $44.99 (Series 12 46mm)
The version of the above without the 316L specification, at $44.99 rather than $49.99. This is the band most people will actually want, because a link band that does not feel like jewellery is the point.
Spigen lists the Series 12 in both sizes here, which is worth noting: the 42mm variant was out of stock when we checked but is listed, so it is a matter of colour availability rather than the size being unsupported.

Best Rugged Band
4. Spigen Rugged Armor Pro Band
Price: $39.99 (Series 12 46mm)
The most protected band here, with a raised structure around the watch body rather than a plain strap. Spigen’s Rugged Armor line is the one it uses for cases, and the same logic applies: the display is the part that fails.
At $39.99 for the Series 12 46mm this sits below both Modern Fit versions. The trade is bulk against a link band, and if you work with your wrists near a bench this is the one to buy.

Best for Ultra 4 Owners
5. Spigen Rugged Ultra Band
Price: $39.99 (Series 12 46mm)
Named for the Ultra line, and Spigen still lists the 49mm Ultra as a variant on this page at the same $39.99. That matters if you own an Ultra 4: the case sizes have not shifted in a way this band does not cover.
Read the variant list before buying rather than assuming. Spigen lists the Ultra at 49mm and the Series 12 at 46mm on the same product, so one page covers both bodies and the price happens to match.

Best Sport Band With Multiple Colours
6. Spigen WBF1 Sport Band
Price: $24.99 (Series 12 46mm)
An elastomer sport band, which is what most people wear most of the time, and Spigen lists the Series 12 46mm in black and black with orange or green accents. Three colourways at one price.
Elastomer is the material Apple itself uses for the Sport Band, and the reason it works is that it dries fast and does not hold sweat against the wrist. It is also the easiest band to swap without tools.

Best Textured Band
7. Spigen Nano Pop Band
Price: $29.99 (Series 12 46mm)
A textured finish in the same elastomer family as the WBF1 above, and it is the pick if you find smooth bands slippery when the watch gets warm. The texture also hides the hairline marks that elastomer picks up.
Spigen lists the most colourways of any band here, and covers both Series 12 sizes with the 42mm variant present on the same page. That breadth is why it prices five dollars over the WBF1.

Best Value
8. Spigen Lite Fit Band
Price: $19.99 (Series 12 46mm)
Nineteen dollars and ninety-nine cents, and Spigen lists the Series 12 46mm in black, khaki and navy, all in stock. That is the cheapest genuine band here by five dollars and the reason it is worth buying two.
Lite is the right word: this is a thin elastomer strap with no metal hardware beyond the pin, so it is the band to wear in the shower or the gym and the one to lose without minding. Its weakness is that it is the least protective, being essentially a band and nothing more.

Best ESR Alternative, Older Watches Only
9. ESR Equinox Sport Band
Price: $31.99 (regular $39.99)
Include this one with a warning rather than as a recommendation for a Series 12 owner. ESR’s own compatibility line reads that it fits 49mm, 46mm, 45mm, 44mm and 42mm watches, covering Ultra 3 and 2 and Series 11 back to Series 1.
It does not mention the Series 12 or the Ultra 4 anywhere on the page, and we checked all three of ESR’s watch products for those strings and found neither. The 46mm size in ESR’s range may well fit a Series 12 46mm, but that is an inference and not something the brand states.

Best Watch Protector Bundle
10. ESR Equinox Ultimate Bundle, Blue
Price: $53.99 (regular $62.99)
A titanium-style case, a band and Corning glass in one order, which is the only pick here that protects the watch body as well as strapping it. The saving is real: $53.99 against a $62.99 regular price.
The same caveat applies as to the band above. This bundle is described throughout as Apple Watch Ultra protection, and ESR does not state Series 12 compatibility anywhere on the page. On size alone a 46mm Series 12 would take the 45mm case, but we did not verify that and would not want you to find out at checkout.
The Verdict
Take the Spigen Modern Fit at $44.99 if you want a link band that does not feel like costume jewellery. Buy the Spigen Lite Fit at $19.99 if the price is the deciding factor and you would rather lose a band than a set of keys. Pick the Spigen Modern Fit Titanium if you have worn a metal bracelet before and want one that will not stretch.
If you own a Series 12 in 42mm, check the variant list before ordering. Spigen lists that size on three of these eight bands but showed some colourways out of stock when we checked, and the ESR products here say nothing about Series 12 at all.
